Mockduck
I have read anecdotal reports that the new 2600+ cartridge connector, the bit with the teeth where you plug the carts in, might be a bit looser and have weaker pins than original hardware. If this is true, what would happen if you swapped the 2600+ pins with an original Atari 2600 pin connector? Would it (maybe?) resolve some game loading issues like with Activision carts? Would it be relatively easy to do?
Brad_from_the_80s
I don't know the answers to most of your questions, but a 2600 original would not have the additional contacts to support 7800 carts. And people say Activision carts have problems on original hardware too.
Mockduck
Good point, would have to be a 7800 edge connector or whatever it's called.
