MESS question.

kinda new setting up the mess emulator. what do i need to run it?(mainly for 5200/7800)

Well, you need the MESS emulator the system BIOS ROM and the game ROMs. IF you can figure out how to get configured then it works.

1. Youll need the 7800 BIOS image.

2. Once you download it, make a folder titled a7800 under the BIOS directory.

3. Extract the file into this directory

4. make a directory called a7800 in the software folder

5. place zipped roms in this directory

 

As many have said before, MESS lives up to its name quite well

I'm use to doing Emulation on the Mac or sometimes under Unix. I can't seem to figure out how to get mess to work on XP.

I have all the roms in the software/a7800 directory as zips. They are .a78 format. I have the os unzipped in the bios/a7800/7800.rom

Okay.. I hit myself. I need to run the messgui.exe file.

 

Now to figure out why the 5200 shows up as non-working even though I can play it.
