My wine arrived last night.

Turns out the winery is owned by a husband and wife- the husband being Justin Bailey of Digital Eclipse.

Very cool.

Now the tough question - do you drink the wine or leave it sealed?

I mean, it's wine. You leave it sealed for a few decades, or centuries, let that value appreciate, then you pop it open and drink it as a vintage.

I plan to drink one on some sort of big special occasion...which I expect Atari will do somewhere in the next few years.

The other will be stored in my collection of other wines.

Actually 2 common mistakes there... wine does age for several years..but most won't last decades without spoiling.  I'd say to drink most in 6-10 years.

And yes... I've been privy to many old wines opened...at a high cost...that get poured down the sink.

....and 'vintage' denotes a specific time period- it does NOT mean old....even though it is commonly used as such- example given - Vintage record store.

This is a vintage 2022.

No different than something being a vintage 2016, 1998, 1976, etc.   It's a dating mechanism- not a qualifier of a period such as 'Antique'.

Meaning- yes there are vintage 2024 items already.
