Used to love playing Threshold for a800, I’d don’t know it had been ported to the 2600 until years later. This one? It's magnificent! It's an Astro Blaster clone! (Another commenter here said it reminded him of Megamania.) Quote Threshold is a space-themed fixed shooter written by Warren Schwader and Ken Williams for the Apple II and published by On-Line Systems in 1981.[1] Inspired by Sega's Astro Blaster arcade video game, Threshold introduces many enemy ship types and wave formations as the game progresses. Reviewers found the variety distinguished the game from the many similar shoot 'em ups. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Threshold_(video_game) Edited March 5 by Living Room Arcade

+Living Room Arcade
Just for fun, I played Threshold game 3A (enemy bombs fall straight down, not guided at you!). Much easier! I quickly got through all 11 waves, died on wave 1 (2nd time), score 31,040! Indeed, if you do this and see all 11 waves, you will really see IMO more connections with Astro Blaster. The enemies look more and more fanciful. So cool! I think game 3A is rather enjoyable. I may continue to play 3A for my own enjoyment after this HS competition is over. Note: I first got this tip here! Edited March 6 by Living Room Arcade

CapitanClassic
@Living Room Arcade, yes the Atari 800 version is excellent, and complete different from this Atari 2600 version. The VCS version is missing the fuel gauge, and the blaster heat gauge. (Also missing the docking sequence with the mother-ship). I cannot say I am impressed with any of the three games this week.

AtariSphinx
Jawbreaker (1 B/B): 25,730 Definitely the best game of the bunch. Really liked the Atari 800 version which was more of a Pac-Man clone but interesting take on it on the 2600 which is quite different.
