+dhe
Is there a service manual for the hx-1000? I'm trying to open the unit up to cut out the nicad batteries and not having much luck.
+Ksarul
I haven't seen the service manuals for any of the HexBus peripherals. I do know that @acadiel has worked on quite a few of the HexBus devices, and so may be able to give some tips on that. I think Turtles has disassembled a few as well. I'll ask him. It has been much too long since the last time I opened one myself--so I'd have to go back into one to relearn the steps (and I can do that in an emergency, if needed). Another possibility would be @fabrice montupet, @ti99iuc or @kl99 as they also have them. If you have Mike Dudeck's contact data, he would be able to give tips too, as he opened a bunch of HexBus things in the last year or so to remove the old batteries when present.

You should be able to just unscrew the bottom screws, and the front panel slides off, and then the top. humeur
I also removed the battery pack, but I can't remember how I did it. On the other hand, you have to remove them, mine is starting to oxidize. JL
