HSC21 Round 9: Law and Disorder II

Cops 'n Robbers 10,650 did get one piece of something out of the safe (possibly like Blueprint) game has some merit despite being hard going - baddies seem to appear on top right of all the screens :ponder:

Daylight Robbery - ahhh there's the one - 50 pts got a letter with first part of a safe code or something argh!

Checked out Robbery - not very exciting but a simple demo game showing good use of splitting the PMGs - you can press fire or move u/d to change rows and move l/r to steal gold.

9,000 and didn't want another go!

 

Getaway improved to 7,520 still a Crafty Crook

On atarionline.pl is xex version made by fandal. What type of car is it - if is compatible with xegs probably i can make it with my PCB and enclosure, unfortunately without polygraphy now.

Getaway: 8860, "The Boss" rank

Keystone Kapers: 200100, Level 49 (counter froze at 16)

 

Getaway plays like Pac-Man with a much large maze (fun though!).  Was able to advance the rank to the maximum, but I kept losing money before I could "stash" it.

 

Keystone Kapers is fun, but if you can figure out level 16, it can be played forever.  I just stopped my game after I got to 200k.

Cops 'n' Robbers - 3250 pts
Getaway! Standard map - Hoodlum $870
Keystone Kapers - 18900 pts, level 5
Lawkeeper - 11002 pts

 

After having being away from A8 for a month, finally I took a little time to at least get placeholder scores for these games. Back in 2017 when I spent more time playing games than I do today, I was at least up to $5000+ on Getaway, a score I'd have much difficulty reaching today.

 

Cops 'n' Robbers reminds me of a game that I played before. While I see from Mobygames that this particular game was released on A8, VIC-20, C64, C16 & Plus/4, BBC Micro and Electron, I'm not sure it was one of those other formats I played it on. Going by date stamps, it seems to have been a VIC-20 original which was ported to the Atari 8-bit four or five (!) years later.

Om the Jaw Breaker levels (4 and 5) you can smash them with a long arm of the law.

I think level 6 " Deputy Level " is over if the deputy rounds up law breakers and fills the 4 corner jails, maybe you can stop him or perhaps it just needs you to grab them before him :!:

Not beaten level 6 but have only had a couple of goes so far

Nice game, has the manic feel to it :thumbsup:

Think the other bonus games are on the punishment list though the additional "Robbery" we haven't played before.

 

Is this game like Zoo Keeper ?!

Law Keeper - improved slightly to 79,021 - this time I didn't manage to zap him, looks like you can only get him on the sides of the screen as he cuts across right on the inner wall. He had 2 in his jails and I had all the rest rounded up with one stiill out there, I couldn't seem to get him and he eventually ran into the remaining guy and it was game over - I'm wondering if you can only get him when he is arresting someone and I should have tried using the space bar here to release some more guys - don't think the balls are active on the deputy level so this also makes we wonder about using it :ponder:

 

Good game and I encourage you all to give it a few goes ;)

Congratulations to trbb for his sneaky win on the multi gamer, about the only way I can win a round with McKong and rdrunner crushing things this season ;)

Thanks for playing everyone and if anyone can figure out LawKeeper level 6 please let me know - you can start on it by selecting Advanced on the title screen, only time I zapped te Deputy he was on the right side and there were loads of people swarming about, possibly you need the handcuffs and have to get him in the short time they are active but I'm not sure, would like to play the game more if this can be figured out.
