Billy's Midway (Hawthorne, NJ) Review

On Sunday, my mom took me to Billy's Midway in Hawthorne, NJ.

 

Right off the bat there was a Tron poster. I knew it was gonna be good. They had a few rare cabs, like Megazone, Marvin's Maze, and Circus (YMO anyone??) They also had Computer Space.

 

Mom beat The Simpsons (I helped her at a few points.) I played Dig Dug, Centipede (where I set the high score... only for mom to beat it immediately after), Tron (could not get past anything except for the I/O tower part), Millipede, Donkey Kong Junior (this game is impossible), Moon Patrol, Star Wars, Sinistar, Space Invaders, Baby Pac-Man, Victory Road (that laugh at the beginning brings back memories), and Computer Space (did '70s kids have patience or what?? This game is painstaking.) I also vs'd some kid on Mortal Kombat II (I of course was Jax.)

 

Circus was out of order, and BurgerTime was too. But this has been the first classic arcade I've been to since the one in TN 2 years ago. I hope we go again soon, and I hope there are classic arcades in Virginia! (We're going to Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens. Anyone know good classic arcades near there?)
