Creative Computing Atari A8 First Occurrence ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Does anyone know when the Atari 400/800 were first mentioned in Creative Computing magazine?

Also, is there an index of Creative Computing somewhere that is like Antic or Analog over at:

https://www.atarimagazines.com/

Looking at archive.org just lists all issues uploaded. There can be multiple entries for the same issue. Even after narrowing the search.  Plus they do not list Volume and Number with the issue date. It is nothing like what Kay has done above.

Thanks

Thanks

That gave me a good place to start!

I found a interesting article in CC 8 '79.

The header show Atari was working on a computer from least June 1969, no my typo, 1969

But I found an earlier release note from CC 4 '79

https://archive.org/details/CreativeComputingbetterScan197904/page/n63/mode/2up?q=atari

There is also reference to an Atari Computer in CC back issue ads for the Vol 4 No 4 July/Aug 1978.

But I think this is another type that should reference the above 4 '79 issue

I found a reference in the CC 10 '79

This last one is in several of these issues.

Already selling software for the 800 before it is released.
