2024 Portland Retro Gaming Expo - September 27 - 29, 2024

Recommended Posts

AtariAge will again be attending the annual Portland Retro Gaming Expo, taking place this year September 27 - 29 at the Oregon Convention Center!  We'll once again have a huge 45' x 30' booth (our second year with a booth of this magnitude), and we'll have many new games available to purchase at the show, as well as demos for upcoming games!  The AtariAge booth will be located right near the main entrance to the vendor hall, so you can't miss it as you enter the show!

Many homebrew developers will be in attendance again at this year's show, so this is a great opportunity to meet and talk to developers about their games!

And of course this is a HUGE event, after growing last year with 60,000 square feet of new space!  There's so much to do at the show, tons of vendors, a huge free-play arcade, cosplay, auction, large console play area, tournaments, many speakers and panels throughout the show, and much more!  If I have enough help at the booth this year, maybe I can spend a small bit of time walking around (but I say that nearly ever year, and it rarely transpires!)

And new for this year, Atari will also have a booth, adjacent to the AtariAge booth!  You'll be able to play various Atari games and experience a variety of Atari hardware in their booth.  This will be Atari's first official presence at a retro gaming event of this nature (I'm not including events like PAX and Gamescom, as those are much larger events with a different focus). Should be fun!

Hope to see many of you there!!

Hope lots of members of our community can attend PRGE. Our fellow Classic Gaming Enthusiast, Rick Weis, organizes and hosts the show and I can say from experience it’s worth the trip, especially to experience the AtariAge booth, which Albert puts maximum effort into.

Be sure to greet Rick while you’re there. He usually has a booth of his own near the center of the very large venue.

I stopped reading here, I thought maybe I can actually make it for once, but I am allergic to costumes. :(

Anything for the 2600?

I will be offering my 4 homebrews that I have for the 2600(Game Panic, Game Panic III, Catacombs of Chaos, and Retro Game Quest).   I would like to see Blockem Sockem get a version possibly on the 2600, but have two NES games that are coming next to be offered.

I'll be missing PRGE this year.  I'll have to enjoy it vicariously with pictures those who attend post!  Enjoy!

Same here - I have a prior commitment. Hopefully the scheduling will work out in 2025.

I’m very excited to be coming to my first ever PRGE as I live in Australia. I have been having FOMO for the past few years and am looking forward to seeing the excitement first hand.

I'll be attending, as usual.

@Albert, will there be AtariAge badges this year?

That's great, I'll see you at the end of next month!  And, yes, I will be making badges again this year.
