Inky
If anyone can do it, I need the samples of the sound FX from the 2600 Pac-Man.. All of 'em, to finish my little '2600 PAc-Man for the PC' project. Any help would be most helpful!
NE146
yknow how I got the 2600 Space Invaders sounds for my remake a couple of years ago? I played it on an emu, stuck the pc mic to my speakers, and used old Windows Sound Recorder (and did the edits in there as well). It took all of 5 minutes or so and actually turned out great
ZylonBane
Ummm... why didn't you just record directly from the WaveOut device?
Inky
Ummm... why didn't you just record directly from the WaveOut device? Hmmm.... Is it possible to put a patch cable from the output jack directly into the input jack, or microphone jack on my sound card? Would that cause any problems? I couldn't get that to work My recollection of the event was I quickly tried a couple of things.. but in the 3 minutes I fiddled with it, it wasn't going, then I just did the ol' speaker/mic thing and voila! You gotta realize this all took place in the span of 10 minutes or so and was more or less to quickly get some filler sounds. But in the end I just ended up keeping them cuz they were fine! And not to mention.. this was years ago as well (1998?), I don't even remember what OS I was using... 95 or 98?
ZylonBane
Is it possible to put a patch cable from the output jack directly into the input jack, or microphone jack on my sound card?A better question is, why would you want to do that? Any full-duplex sound card (ie-- almost any sound card made in the last 5 years) has the ability to record its own output.

SS
If anyone can do it, I need the samples of the sound FX from the 2600 Pac-Man.. Do you need more than this? I could break 'em down to specific FX if I gave some time to it. This is just what I already had sitting around in my 'SoundFX" folder. atari_pacman_small.zip
