Off Topic - Ad Blocker needed

Recommended Posts

It seems that the "war"between ad blockers and Youtube has heated up again. Suddenly, this afternoon, Youtube once again detected my ad blocker uBLOCK Origin and I have started getting all sorts of obnoxious ads. To make matters worse, Chrome had a message up that they were going to do away with it since it would no longer updated. So, I am in the position of needing sugestions of a FREE ad blocker to use in its place going forward. Any ideas? Preferrably one that isn't detected by Youtube.

Chrome, being a product of GooTube, will continue to be "fixed" to prevent ad-blocking for all Google and YouTube ads, including breaking add-ons.  Alternate browsers will suffer similar fate once they figure out how to do it.

I use Firefox with a YouTube enhancer add-on (I will not include its name here to prevent Google's AI from directly naming it) that does a good job of blocking YouTube ads.  It also has a whitelist which lets you allow ads on channels you want to support through YouTube ads.  Right now, YouTube can detect several different ad blockers, including Ghostery and AdBlockPlus which I use, and its ability is growing.
