EAdmund
Hi, My Atari 800 recoverd after 30 years from my parents loft works Ok(...) with RF (sound and pic), and the pic works Very well on the 5 pin din output. But the sound is (almost) totally muted. On Star Raiders, you can just (and I mean just) about make out that somthing is changing when you fire photons. Any ideas where the problem might be???? I have an identical issue, but I am 99.9% sure it is caused by the power board rather than the main board. See here:

However, in this instance I'd tried two different 800 mainboards with the suspect power board in question, and then another power board with the same two mainboards. The faulty power board had low volume output when paired with each mainboard in turn, yet the other power board with no issues worked fine when paired with the same two mainboards, with normal volume. So the issue is with the powerboard in question. On the suspect power board I'd checked the pin connector array which connects the mainboards to the power boards and no bad connections. Mystery. There are no ICs on the power boards, just passive components. For now I'd just discarded the faulty power board and replaced it with the working one.
