Dmc88877
Hello, I was wondering if this version of Frogger for the Atari 8bit Computers is unique? Its a Commodore/Atari Flip Diskette. I don't see it available on eBay, and on Atarimania I think it might be this version https://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-frogger_12181.html. Is this a rare find? It loads up with a green title screen, then shows high scores, and then goes into a black screen with a bunch of options before going to the game. If its something worth preserving I can take scans of the Disk/Packaging it came with. I was able to make a copy of the game, but I don't have a Sio2PC currently. _The Doctor__
I'd have it preserved, it looks like the high score table is still empty so it's a good chance the disk hasn't been fiddled with or written to. Some snapshot of the DISK itself and related materials would be great.
Rybags
They usually mention on the AtariMania site when a particular version is as such. Often flippy type disks might be US Gold releases which were mainly for the UK. At the least it'd be worth archiving so it could be compared to what's already up there. Is this a rare find? Yes, it is that version. It seems pretty rare but I am certainly no expert in that field. Btw. @www.atarimania.com your link to FastRobPlus' blog is dead and can only be reached via WayBack Machine. Here is a dump from a8preservation Frogger (The Official) (1981)(Sierra On-Line)(US)[a].atr which would be happy if there was a second authentic dump for verification. Plus we do not have any scans or pictures of box, manual or disk.
Dmc88877
Very interesting. I picked this up in a Facebook marketplace pickup with a bunch of other "Shareware" programs. I'll scan the Floppy Disk and the "sleeve" it came with tonight and post here? I certainly do not mind making a copy of the disk available just currently do not have a way to do so. I'll have to look into getting a sio2pc.

abbotkinneydude
That's the Chuck Benton version. Quite a find. I just bought an identical loose copy from a French Canadian seller in Québec, it will be interesting to compare. There's a sealed copy for $69.99 (OBO) if anybody's interested. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334441466308
Dmc88877
Very cool. Yeah once yours arrives it will cool to compare. This lot had a lot of "shareware" things on disk. I'm going to have to go through it and see if there is anything else on the disks (not retail stuff) that is not archived. Funny enough theres another "loose" copy for sale on ebay as well. https://www.ebay.com/itm/315326302096?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D272611%2C271354%26meid%3Dece47290f39c49acb3cf213357c883a5%26pid%3D101875%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D334441466308%26itm%3D315326302096%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2332490%26algv%3DSimVIDwebV3WithCPCExpansion&_trksid=p2332490.c101875.m1851&itmprp=cksum%3A315326302096ece47290f39c49acb3cf213357c883a5|enc%3AAQAJAAABAKAOBbj8c9I6eO4vPyI9FfMl8NhNqsULUU1TfDUZ7khlOLj1dfIx2Y63cmOZ%2BVi5pBafaPt96zDpkfX2eXHAS1559vsZg%2FkWJt07nfRnFmGo1xwJ29pDOH78k5mJMcPhmtNStuprFyQPSPyJk%2Brldrxd0UQUgYW40Y15QwWlEyA1XBe2xPm5zo0PM%2Fa8cDQZWcPmuclz9ny5ZX4vifNrWDNcstgLEMV3wOlVRCBAqozN9YdC2RiOq4pNiXm9NA2kRa9L52%2BHz%2B3dfACIQrEFJBBJImEE8I2fJ4JecVumbcQuLr75uytiEU38sJeNDA7TbBFjD%2FNRbvOyCslavN2JfDE%3D|ampid%3APL_CLK|clp%3A2332490&itmmeta=01J71TYS6QJ41N6XGSBZBB3SDE Edited September 5 by Dmc88877

I tried to do a dump (ATR, PRO) with Ape Prosystem, but unfortunately it doesn't work "Unusual error. [Error identifying disk format]". +StaxX28
I tested the game on my 1050, it works perfectly. The other side (A side) is for the C64 version
