IndyJones1023
Hopefully someone here is a digital packrat and can help me out. I have poked around and asked question on various fora/FB groups to no avail. I have an ancient Raspberry Pi B+ I'd like to use to run a TI 99/4A emulator. Everything I am finding is either out of date with broken links or too new and won't run on the older unit. Does anyone here happen to have an image file I could flash to an SD card for the Pi B+ with a TI emulator on it? Back story: I stream 80s vinyl and use my retro computers (currently an Atari 1040ST, 800, and C64Mini) to play slideshows of album covers. I have different overlays for each system (below). I'd like to add the TI to the lineup. Secondary question, if I can get this working, are there any slideshow programs for the TI? Also, any apps to convert JPGs to images files for the TI? GDMike
I think by the time you loaded wine and then the emulator the program would suck at performance, unless maybe it was web-based... Edited September 9 by GDMike
IndyJones1023
Do you mean ultimately I need to get a newer Pi and add the TI emulator to RetroPie?
+mizapf
I don't know whether you consider using MAME or not, but here are some of my measurements with the Raspberry. It shows that the Pi 4 is the definitive minimum for running MAME; everything below is torture. https://www.ninermame.org/info/requirements
SteveB
The TI99/Sim is an older project with some disadvantages like a special module format ... but used to run fine on linux hardware, now considered "really old". https://www.mrousseau.org/programs/ti99sim/
