I recently picked up an Atari 1200XL at the 2024 VCF Midwest Auction and everything seems to work, but it is missing the escape key. I've attached a pic of the keyboard to help show the missing key. Is there anyone who has an escape key and plunger that they'd be willing to sell? If not, I'm probably going to print a new plunger/key, but would rather not do that since this is a US built early numbers 1200XL. +bob1200xl Posted September 12 Share Posted September 12 The issue on 1200XL keycaps is white or yellow. Not fierce yellow, just not-white. An old 1200XL is probably yellow. PM me with your name and address. Do you have the old keycap? When you dismantle the PCB on the keyboard, you will probably brick the k/b... Cliff Friedel Posted September 12 Author Share Posted September 12 It's an older 1200XL (US built, low serial number). I do not have the old escape key. It was broken off when I obtained the machine. I'll PM you. I may have to take the K/B apart anyway to clean it.
