Different signal formats for 2600 and 7800 games?

@SainT Does the 7800 GD output a different format signal from its RGB port when emulating 2600 games, compared to 7800 games?  The reason I ask is because when I connect it to my DVDO Edge video processor using the HD Retrovision Genesis component video cable, I get a blank screen and an "Unsupported Signal" message on the info page for the Edge.  However, it works perfectly when emulating 7800 games.  Strangely enough, it also works perfectly when connected directly to the component video input on my old 2011 Panasonic Viera plasma display.  Thanks!

Hi! Yes, the 2600 and 7800 modes output a different video signal timing. This is the case with the actual 7800 hardware when using Maria (7800) or TIA (2600), they are completely different chips and the system switches between which controls the video out. The 2600 can have quite variable vsync (it’s actually software defined) so many modern displays have issues with the 2600.
