nobru
Hi, I am looking for quadtari schematics. I would like to make a 2 port version for a double joystick (robotwar). That is to say a 1/2 quadtari. The savekey will remain on the player 2 port of the console. I have some of the plans with the video of the KIT assembly. There are 4 cd4053 and 2 resistors. The copper is clearly visible on video. If the diagram is available, please share it. If not, I will make some prototypes with the identified information. Thanks in advance. nobru Edited October 7 by nobru
nobru
Hi, I didn't get much help on this project. But here is the prototype of the 1/2 quadtari or doubletari. I redid a little schematic of the project by simplifying the quadtari (thanks to the authors for this fabulous product). The goal is to connect only 2 joysticks and 1 Savekey to play champ games like the excellent Robotwar. Combined with a wireless PS4 controller and an ESP32 (rosetta or otherwise), it's wonderful. All that remains is to make a beautiful 3D case to finish this project. I am attaching some photos and schematics. 20241019_022137.mp4 see you soon nobru doubletari 2600.pdf Edited October 19 by nobru
Prizrak
I've often wanted a quadtari just so I could use the savekey and two joysticks. This is the best of both worlds, awesome project
Bomberman94
The only thing that put me off buying it was that the paddles don't work with it
nobru
Good evening, In fact the authors of Qatari used pin 9 and a bit of software to synchronize the 2 joysticks. Pin 9 is also used for the paddle, therefore incompatible. I also wanted combined with the 2 buttons version but it also uses pin 9. So for paddle and 2 buttons games they will have to remove the quadtari.
Thomas Jentzsch
I think one paddle will work.

nobru
Hi, On my project this will not work. I did not wire pin9 and 5 of the output joysticks/paddles. I think it's the same on the real quadtari. Between pin 9 and 7, there is a resistor which manages the quadtari. The paddles also have a variable resistance in pin 9 and pin7 which makes the quadtari unstable and non-functional.

Should be not problem. Though two trackballs per port will required some hefty compromises.
