RMotion's state( ) ?

On RMotion doc, you could find

* state(source)
state(5) change the state of this object to 5 (could be "monster is running"). Values are defined by
the user. state() must use a value superior to 1 and make an implicit active().

What is state of the object ?

I didn't find a R_sprite_state or similar....

Is it (still) available ?

what does "make an implicite active()" ? my FSM should always start by activate the sprite ?
since RMotion scripts run only when sprite is active, I don't see what it means....

Thanks
