+davidcalgary29
I found a demo on some disks last night that appears to be from the early '80s. It's "entitled" (using that term very loosely) "This is what your Atari computer can do!" and proceeds to demonstrate a few simple demos of home applications programs and the like. Can anyone advise on a release date for this demo, and whether or not this is an illegal dump of a demo cartridge for the 8-bits?
Rob Mitchell
Does it play alot of heavy base beat disco music .. with bad graphics of a house and a action shot of Star Raiders? Whole program lasts about 5 minutes to loop through? If so .. it is the early Atari 400/800 In Store Demo Program. +davidcalgary29
I don't recall seeing "Star Raiders" in that demo, but should admit that I got bored with it and turned it off before it looped back to the beginning. Most of the featured applications were home/office programs, and the demo does indeed have some pretty crude graphics.
Curt Vendel
Demo disk (then later cart) is listed first in the Apr 81' dealer price list, so it should have been released about that time. Curt
