5200 Game Cart box variations

Hello,

I noticed in my collection two different versions of some of the Atari 5200 game boxes. For example, I have two different Super Breakout boxes. One box is silver with a large Atari logo and thin blue stripe across the front. The other box is light gray with a small Atari logo and wider blue stripe across the front.

Which box is the first version? I am thinking the silver box with the thin blue stripe. I also noticed the overlays for Super Breakout are slightly different from each box. The overlays from the silver box say Rev. 1 and have blue borders framing the keypad and the overlays from the light gray box say Rev. 2 and don't have the blue borders.

What are all the 5200 games that came with the silver box?

Doug

Like these below? I would tent to agree with that, I only have the one thin line box now I think I had a Defender like that too at one time, but this one is a 1982 copywrite the fat line is a 1983. Although I do have many fat line 1982 games. And there are some 1986, & 87 I think, so a few more boxes out there, but maybe not for titles with the lines.

Yes,

Those represent the two variations I'm talking about.

The games I have with the thin blue stripe and large Atari logo are:

Super Breakout, Space Invaders, Star Raiders, Galaxian, Soccer and Defender.

I also have the second box variation for these games too but like your's, the Soccer was renamed RealSports Soccer and the picture was revised.

Thanks,

Doug
