Rob Mitchell
Atari came out with the first multicarts .. "Side B games" for those of us who remember 45 rpm records. So what carts have multiple games? I'm not thinking of variations of a theme like Space Invaders with 112 variations .. but entirely different games on a single cart. Here's what I have thus far: 2 game carts: Codebreaker with NIM Canyon Bomber with the depth charge game. Multicarts: Combat: Tanks with Biplanes and Jet Fighters. Air Sea Battle with all the different games. Casino. Others? Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
sku_u
The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the 32-in-1 multicart released in PAL form and i'm not sure that you are even counting carts like this.
Buck
Street Racer with the Skiing variation. Love those crushed skis when you hit the wall. Buck

Rob Mitchell
StarShip with Lunar Lander counts. Street Racer with Skis is a variation on the main theme. Video Graphics at the end of Surround is a variation of the main theme. I was thinking of carts where alot of programming went into the extra game(s). Video Olympics has a great variety requiring extensive programming. The greatest difference between the added game and the principle game is the Depth Charge game at the end of Canyon Bomber. Others? So was management at Atari thinking that the principal game on the cart would not make a great sell and prompted the programmer to add extra game(s)? Nostalgic
How about the Acey-Deucey variant of Backgammon?
raindog
I think in the case of stuff like Air/Sea Battle, Video Olympics and Canyon Bomber that it was a holdover from their Pong console days when you were expected to be able to flip a switch and change from Pong to Gunfight or something like that. People (or maybe marketers) were maybe still thinking in terms of "You put this game pak in and it becomes a totally new console with a totally new set of games." It seems to me that all their competitors around the 2600's launch (e.g. Fairchild Channel F, Coleco Telstar Arcade, Bally Astrocade, Videopac/Odyssey2) did similar things with their first wave of carts.
