Derek
Hi. I just got a bunch of carts from a second hand store. There are some less common ones, and ones I think might be rare, I'l have to look at one of the guides on the net. Anyhow, they all were from the same owner. He or she felt it necessary to write their initials "K.F." on every cartridge using what looks to be marks-a-lot type of magic marker. Any ideas on what chemical might remove the initials without ruining the label. I tried paint brush cleaner and it worked to dull the letters, then started to dissolve the label... Thanks. Sincerely, Derek.

Csonicgo
alchohol, q-tip, lightly brushing over the label sometimes worked..... actually, handling it ( playing it a lot) will actually get the marker off the label. your fingers rub it off. I had some that were initialed (RW) and they eventually came off.
atari-my-crack
Just be careful on the silver parker brothers labels. It's super easy to rub the silver finish off using alcohol and q-tips... just ask he how I know this
Dones
In my experience Goo Gone is the best gum/mark remover for the job. It removes gum dirt from stickers and most types of marks made by markers. In the latter case it depends wether the marker is permanent or water based. Water based marks can be removed completely. Marks made with permanent ink markers can be faded out a bit. When using the product on a cart's label is better to apply it indirectly by wetting a napking with Goo Gone and rubbing that gently against the surface. If you rub too hard you risk fading out the label's colors.
Inky
Personally, I like the initials on the carts. I think they add character. But then, I'm a playa, not a collecta
