frog pond proto authenticity?

It's a real early nineties reproduction so to speak, on a real Atari proto-board. Not worth as much as a lab-loaner but still significantly worth more than a modern repro.

I'd say anywhere from $50 - $100 on this, just my opinion.

Yeah I'd have to say it's a reproduction as well. It's hard to tell since it's on a real Atari EPROM board and it has EPROM covers, but Atari usually used colored stickers (pink, blue, red, yellow) and not white. However I have seen a few with white covers and I know those are legit. I guess it all boils down to where your friend got the 'prototype' from. It could really go either way, although I'd probably lean more towards it being a best proto since it says TITLE on it. This was because Best sold versions both with and wiithout a title screen. A real proto most likely wouldn't have this on it.

I believe this and the other "questionable" cart he had up for auction, came from Stilphen.  :ponder:

...who probably got it from Best Electronics. What's your point?

No point, I just saw him auction off a lot on eBay with a bunch of these Best carts in it.
