Dantaipan
I've seen others who have put the button on top but I find this to be a very comfortable position as well as being very discreet.

MrRetroGamer
Interesting placement! Reminds me of the C-380 Video Pinball unit! Is that a microswitch button or a leaf spring?
Dantaipan
It's a microswitch I guess. Robbed from a genesis/snes "professional" arcade stick. What does a leafspring look like?
oesii
Now if someone would port over a nice pinball game from the XL/XE to the 5200 you could place the 2nd button on the other side and have a cool pinball controller I have that kind of setup for my arcade and pinball games with my Hotrod Controller, it has two pinball buttons on the sides. Anyways, your mod reminded me of that stick

I was trying to think of a use for a button on the other side but came up short. I doubt anyone is going to port a game just for me though

+davidcalgary29
My favourite used to be Night Mission. I always did like that one much more than David's Midnight Magic.
oesii
That looks like a nice one (attached ) but I just remembered that the game has to be 16k to work on the 5200 and it looks like Night Mission is 32k. night_mission_pinball.zip
oesii
haha, I finally found another application for CpuWiz's cool custom Spyhunter joystick. NightMission Pinball uses the button on two different joysticks for each of the flippers but that's too much work for me

oesii
And you know, with each new game I discover that uses this stick the price per game goes down dramatically, what a bargain

JB
It's a microswitch I guess. Robbed from a genesis/snes "professional" arcade stick. What does a leafspring look like? A leaf switch has 2 metal "leaves" sticking out of the switch.Pressing the button pushes the top leaf into the bottom one.

In this situation what would be your choice; micro or leaf?
VidGameKing
Leaf has more of a "Classic" feel to it, and leaf switches can be easily cleaned. But Tactile Microswitches have the feel of a solid gaming button. It all depends on what feel your going for.

In this situation what would be your choice; micro or leaf? Well, the only leaf switch I've ever (knowingly) used is the fire button in my VCS' Wico trackball. But I love the little bastard. The leaves are just BARELY seperated, so any pressure closes the switch, making for a quite sensitive fire button. And it's silent. No annoying click noises like with microswitches.
