+davidcalgary29
Does anyone have a complete list of the abbreviation list for BASIC commands? I don't type in that many programs anymore, but this would still be quite handy to have around.

Nukey Shay
Basically, it's the first letter followed by a period. If that abbreviation is already taken, it uses two letters followed by a period...and so on (it's actually determined by where the command appears in Basic's command set in memory...why o why did they have to put REM first??). If you edit this list in memory, you can create one-letter shortcuts for most of the commands.
analmux
I've always had this question: What is the point of abbreviating: POKE --> POK. RUN --> RU. CLOAD --> CLOA. STOP --> STO. ????? Looks stupid to me ----- mux
Nukey Shay
It's because the period is used as a wildcard. If you type CLO. - Basic will pick the first command out of it's list that begin with those 3 letters...CLOSE. So CLOAD has to use at least 4 letters to be recognised. +davidcalgary29
Thanks for all the help; I misplaced most of my BASIC manuals and such long ago.
