How to decode 800XL serial number?

Hi,

 

I heard rumours that the 800XL's serial number carries a lot of useful info on the manufacturing details. How can I decode it? My 800XL has the backplate that is quite worn off but under serial number it says:

 

Serial No:

72R3CG AT84121621

 

Can I read anything out of it. Could be just the manufacturing date or anything of interest? I'm just curious, the web resources can't seem to have the key of how to read the XL numbers (a lot on A2600 number decoding tho)
