Arcade vs. C64 next.... Lee
foxglove9
Very interesting, I'd have to agree pretty much to most of your ratings, though I still think Atari 2600 Space Invaders is way better than the arcade version, as far as the fun factor is concerned. I also think Pac-Man, as much as I hated that version, deserves a little better than a one.

I love Space Invaders, 2600 style but compared to the arcade game (which is what i based the overal score at) its slightly off. The best bit is the various games on the cart! Pacman is so far off that a 1 I think is all it deservers! Thanks guys! Lee
chrisbid
i think the pac man score is a bit harsh as well, yes it was a major letdown, but all the elements of the original game were there. I wouldve given it a 3 on a ten point scale. thats why im not a huge fan of ten point scales, its way to subjective. I prefer a three point scale, Excellent, Playable, Terrible. Then just give special awards for games on either extreme of the scale.
NE146
coming soon..I want to make a complete list. I like it Lee! By the way I think there was an almost complete list here (read Sniderman's post): http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=18305 It's missing some (like Espial and Springer), but I think we mentioned them later in the thread. Then of course there's the infamous 2600 arcade screenshot thread. Although the thread is long and a lot of the pictures are down now.. it does give a pretty good list if you can extract it from each seperate post: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17112

+Nathan Strum
I refined SniderMan's list a bit in this thread, if it's of any help. I really like the comparisons. I'd thought about doing something similar, but never got off of my lazy butt.

Brad2600
Cool site. I like the comparisions. We all know that the 2600 was all about gameplay and not fancy graphics.
