Mendon
I was looking at an eBay auction for Mountain King (never played it on the 2600, only the 8bit) and noticed on the cart that CBS had included the phrase "RAM Plus". Maybe a dumb question but what exactly is RAM Plus? Is this actually a bigger cart than normal 2600 carts or was it a bank switching method or what? Just curious and Thanks in advance! moycon
Here is a good site you might find interesting: http://www.classic-games.com/atari2600/bankswitch.html Specifically the Extra RAM in Carts section.
Duke 4ever
Check out the 2600 version. It has the biggest secret world in its VCS history!!
ZylonBane
Maybe a dumb question but what exactly is RAM Plus? Do you know what "RAM" means? Do you know what "plus" means? Then "RAM plus" means exactly what you think it means.
Nukey Shay
It was made by Dodge?
Pixellated Ghost
It was made by Dodge? Funny, LOL... I thought Dodge stood for Drips Oil, Drops Grease Everywhere... anyway I believe what he was referring to was that the rom chip has some additional ram... if I remember right, it's an extra 128 bytes. I could be wrong but I remember reading about it somewhere ages ago.
Shaggy the Atarian
I have one game that also includes RAM plus, Tunnel Runner. How many games use that, out of curiosity?

SteveW
I've got Mountain King, but I don't have any instructions, so i've never figured out how to play it. Now that i'm thinking about it, I might as well download them so I can have fun with the game.
cryptik76
Mountain King is probably my very favorite Atari 2600 game. You should definitely learn to play it. I still get shudders when I hear that "torch" music.
ATARI TROLL
I just would walk into certain bars with a shirt that said "Ram Plus" on it-LMFAO <------too much coffee again. I figure I am the only one whos is going to laugh at Zylo's Humor! Cheers
NovaXpress
The game should be subtitled "From the man Who Brought You Skeet Shoot." It shows how far a programmer can come. I understand that Skeet Shoot was just an exercise Ed Salvo did to learn about the 2600 (he was probably the first homebrewer) but the demand for carts was so high that the Texas millionaire who discovered him couldn't wait for Space Chase. MK is one of the best 2600 titles I've come across, it plays more like a home computer game - very slick for the old VCS!
ZylonBane
MK is one of the best 2600 titles I've come across, it plays more like a home computer game Probably because that's exactly what it started out as. It does lend itself remarkably well to the 2600's display limitations though. EDIT: Fixed image.
+Random Terrain
Looks like vgmuseum.com uses that trick to block hotlinkers. Attachments are so much better and less evil.
