Malix
Recently purchased a 2600 and some games off of ebay but it would seem the incredibly nice seller is going to keep his property and my money!! This sucks but the money is not what I am worried about I wanted the dang atari. Does anyone know of a site that sells old systems and is trustworthy? Tempest
Don't let one bad Ebay experience throw you, I've only had a handful of bad deals over the years. But if you want to go through a dealer (which is a good way to go for common items) I'd recommend Collectors House (http://www.collectorshouse.net/) I've been dealing with Mike for years and I've never been disappointed. He's honest and has good prices (usually a few dollars below the DP guide price). Tempest [ 06-13-2001: Message edited by: Tempest ]
sly
First of all, Ebay and PayPal has insurance that you may be recover your money, however, you will have to go through the motions and forms to fill out and will probably take some time. Check out the help section in Ebay! I have some systems. Please tell what you are looking for in systems and games. Send me an email maybe we can work something out. Good luck
JagDiesel
Hate to say I've been burned a few times on systems, so far 2 "guaranteed not to DOA" came in mummified they'd been dead so long and the trustworthy sellers renegged on their guarantee... But, I am still happy with 99% of ebay deals I've made
MattyXB
I have the luck, that all ma Ebay deals are good arrived without PayPal. 100% are arrived. I have buy most from germany. Second from USA, Canada, Australia, Austria. All is arrived yet. Ok one video, that I have buy, was only a copy, no original. Buts thats the only thing. I hope it will go on with the good deals. I see first most the feedbacks of the seller. And so I can see is he/she a good seller or not. If he/she has 0 feedback it is luck. But very Rare things will I most not buy from such sellers. If I wait to long, I write most an E-Mail to the seller and ask, if the money is arrived and all is good. All have write back and tell me all is good. One time a seller have forgot to send, because he have think he had send it. But after I write him he has send it and all was good. And some seller have many to do and so I have wait sometimes a bit longer. Matthias
Joel D. Park
georgereese@hotmail.com is a truly reliable source but I send so many folks wanting Atari's his way I'd be surprised if he has any he want to sell. I have been trying to dig out a couple spares of my own and sell them but most of them have small issues like, one has tape on the RCA Cable but it works fine, the other has an extra sensitive power switch. May I ask what you paid for the item on Ebay??
Albert
Sorry to hear you got burned on eBay. I've been mostly as a buyer, I think only one time I never received merchandise and that was for a $10 Atari 2600 cart. As a seller, I've certainly had my share of deadbeats, but most people pay promptly. I'll be running quite a few auctions soon, in an attempt to get rid of tons of stuff before I move back to Austin in a few months. And not just videogame related merchandise!! I have at least 30 Atari 2600 consoles sitting in my storage unit, along with tons of other hardware. At some point I'll go through them all, test and clean 'em, and sell them (probably bundled with games). Most of them will probably find their way onto eBay. ..Al
Malix
Thanks everyone for all the responses. Tempest I will check out that website. As far as ebay goes I still use it daily. The Thing is I have been reading all the posts on this site since I made my bid(1 month ago) and I am really amped to play all the games I remeber so well. I want to guarantee that I will get it and not have to wait on a bid to go through. Oh yeah I paid 50 for the 2600 and 19 games that were pretty common.
