There was an adventure game for the TRS-80 Model I called Deathmaze 5000, and if I remember correctly

(it's been at least 20 years since I played it), it was first-person. A few minutes of Googling didn't turn up the

release date, though it could have been as early as 1977.

Thanks for the correction, I just copied the date from 'pong story' but iirc the date I copied was when it went into production, not when it went up for sale...

 

So no other answer on the 'light gun first person' query? and about the early electro-mechincal first person shooters (like segas sub game with a periscope,)

So nobody mentioned Merlin's Walls (2600) for being the first 3d adventure game that required you to turn your tv on its side It also has the animated rotation.

 

So can anyone tell me the point of merlins walls. What is the object?

Well it didn't work for me, I just turn my head to the right until it looks normal

 

It does seem like it has the same play mechanics of Skeleton+ but when the sound gets louder, I can't find anything...
