2600 commercials for download?

King Atari

Recommended Posts

There is a guy in Denmark that has a web site and he is selling a cd with 50 Atari commercials on it in Jpeg format, for about $10.00 U.S and I was thinking of buying one to see if its any good, I will let you know if it works out.

 :ponder:   :!:

That's www.tvspil.dk, which I mentioned above. All of the videos on the CD he sells are also streamed on his site. I'm in the process of downloading them. :-) (Lots I don't have, some are better quality there than what I have)

Dude, thanks for the 7800 commercials. I especially like the more games one, there are games that were never released advertised, like GATO. My old one was the revised version.

Would you be able to perhaps put up those Mario & ET commercials, if you have them? And maybe some 5200 ones?

The Mario and E.T. Christmas ads are linked above, but here's an extra:

E.T.: The Shed (3.9mb MPG)

I had to remove the 7800 ads to get enough server space to post this. (I'm using my ISP webspace for this. One of these days I'll get around to setting my own server back up)

I know, but those are quicktime, I need WMP. But, thanks for the E.T. Commercial, I've had that on KazzaLite as "More Sources Needed" for almost a week now. Pretty cool, looks like they took more time on the commercials than the game. Anyways, if you happen to have the Mario or E.T. Christmas commercials and you could send them to me via email, I would greatly appreciate it.

No, sorry, only have 'em as MOV files. I haven't been able to find them in any other format. They could be converted to MPG though -- been a while since I had to do that, though, and I'm not entirely sure how I went about it. (I think it involved Adobe Premiere)

Yep....it was you. :)

I also remember Albert saying we could create an archive here if we got permission from the author. I e-mailed the guy at Activision and never got a response though.

I was gonna say that some guy named Mindfield flooded the newsgroups with a bunch of ads around a year ago or so. I believe I have them all still. I don't remember what format they were all in, but I believe the majority were divx or mpeg which would play in WMP just fine.

That would have been me. :-) I think I only ever did that the once, but I think I managed to post the entire gig-plus I had at the time (over a period of a few days I think due to my server's limitations.)

Course I've since switched providers, and their Usenet support falls just short of "What do you mean binaries?"

No problem, and I can't thank you enough for the ads you've posted. Good stuff, for sure. I think the ET Christmas spot has been floating around Kazza, but haven't seen it for awhile.

Just sent this to Atari privately, but then decided to go ahead and post it here.

As I said, I believe I got all of these from Minefield's post in August of 2002. Might be nice if we could pursue something to get them all (from everyone) in one nice place.

I also have the commericials from the Anthology CD, but as I indicated before could not get Activision to respond to my e-mail for permission to post them.

Oh yeah...aside from the fact, that there's some non-atari commercials in this list, there's also the humor_pong there. I'm too lazy to clean it up I guess. :)

Yeah, that looks pretty much like what I posted -- though my entire collection is considerably larger than that. (It appears I didn't post most of the Sega stuff, nor any of the other company-specific ads or other platforms besides pre-NES)

I do recall posting all the Segata Sanshirou ads once way back when someone requested them on one of the newsgroups, though.

I'd set up my FTP server again but my upstream speed on my current ISP is pretty laughable (15k/sec) and I've taken to shutting my machine off at night the past few days because the weather here has been so unseasonably hot and humid that it's literally been causing my machine to overheat, seemingly in defiance of the four case fans (2 intake, 2 exhaust), one CPU fan and one VGA fan (an Iceberq no less) doing their best to keep things cool. I'm currently pointing a desk fan at the side of my open case 'til things cool down a bit here.

Maybe atari_wizard can share when he gets the CDs I sent him. :-)

Sorry if someone has already posted this link, but I recently saw a couple of Atari commercial downloads at x-entertainment.com.

That site has a whole downloads section devoted to classic '80s commercials. But I recently saw an ad for "Cosmic Ark" on their site that I had never seen before.

Anyone who hasn't checked out x-entertainment.com and loves the '80s should do so. They have Transformers ads, Lazer-Tag ads, anything and everything you can remember from the '80s. It's awesome.

Happy hunting!

Hi,

I have ripped all those Activision commercials from the Activision antology PS2 CD, and added them to my website a long time ago, try this link:

Also, try those links, good surprises await :D :

http://www.majkel.mds.pl/html/reklama/indexUKG2.htm (search for 'Atari'; there is one rare Lynx commercial)

http://www.commodore.ca/gallery/video/video.htm (some vids about Atari during the Tramiel era)

http://www.cyberroach.com/ (lots of jaguar commercials, also 'The Fly', 'Centipede' and 'Pole Position' commercials)

Speaking of getting streaming videos onto your computer, how would you go about doing that? I swear, Super Hero Foods is the only place with the original Batman Diet Coke Commercial, and I'd really love to have it, it's probably my favorite commercial of all time, but it's for streaming only. I know it's realplayer, but at this point, I just want it to burn onto a CD (I'm doing 2 CDs, one WMP, one realplayer. I've got so many realplayer videos, including some great Letterman ones, that it would be impossible to find them in any other format). If anyone could help me out here, I'll gladly look through my "archives" (which consists of far more than just video games, there's figures and food, as well) for anything they may be looking for. Here's the link:

http://www.geocities.com/superherofood/Bat...anDietCoke.html

Please, I'm begging for help here. If I can't get it this way, I'll just have to bust out my ancient VHS copy with the commercial before the film, and point the Sony Mavica at it (which I did with the Batman Returns Diet Coke Commercial I found on an old tape. Yes, I do this kind of crap all of the time. Anyone interested in some Yakov Smirnoff ABC Fun Facts? :D ). Big thanks in advance.

Oh geez, I found it, but they want me to pay for it, and that's out of the question (mainly because I have no spare money). Is there someone here who does have it, or some other way of grabbing the commercial?

You can download the WMRecorder 9.1 demo. It allows you to record up to 2 minutes of video per session. (After 2 minutes you have to quit and reload the app)

A bit annoying but plenty good enough to rip streaming commercials.
