I'll have to play it again on real hardware. I don't recall any flicker.

The screen dump I took, just didn't have any enemies in it. Here is one other. At most, only 2 enemies appear on the screen at once.

Is it just me but does that score counter look very similar to the thunderground

score counter?

Also it looks like tac scans, is this a feature in all segas 2600 games or is it

just coincidence? :)

BTW Cool pic! hope more info on this surfaces soon! ;)

The graphics kind of remind me Thunderground. I wonder if they had the same programmer?

I beat you to it about 5 posts ago. :D Glad to know I'm not the only one sick enough to notice that...

Yeah so you did silly me :dunce:

You know it seems wierd though becase nearly all the sega 2600 games I

have seen have a similar or same layout.

Look at Tac-Scan same Sega copyright date and same score counter, also these three

sega games have the same two borders at the top and bottom of the screen!

Could that mean that all of Sega's 2600 games are simply re-programmed

versions of thier old games upgraded into a new game? :ponder:

Maybe clonespy could help us out here! ;)

No I think it just means that they had a standard kernel they used and the programmers shared it.

They probably all use the same kernel -- not unusual within the same company. Cuts down on development time when they don't have to write a new kernel for every game and can just concentrate on graphics, sound and game logic.

I don't think so. Maybe some small routines could be reused, but the main kernel has usually to be rewritten from scratch. IMO that's more a matter of corporate identity (e.g. like the Activision rainbow and score font) than reusing code.

Try yourself! ;) (CloneSpy)

Probably jumping the gun big time here, but has anyone heard if it's going to be released?

We are working on it. We've narrowed it down to one of 3 people we need to contact (Maybe all 3). It appears that maybe more than one person worked on the game. It will be released pending permission from them. That was the request of the programming group that had it. I am just as anxious as anyone to release it myself.

Any updates to this?

Tempest

Nope. We have not heard a peep form the programmer for several weeks despite a few emails we have sent.

On the brighter side, we will have it available to play at the NWCGE booth at CGE. Stop by and give it a go.
