birdie3
I have yet to pick up these titles and I am preferring to get the "best" version of both of these games. Could anyone provide any insight into which version of these particular games is superior (BTW - I know the 7800 sound is inferrior)? Thanks. ApolloBoy
Well, I've played both versions of Dark Chambers. The 7800 is obviously prettier when it comes to graphics, but in the XEGS version, your character moves much faster, so it's not as boring as the 7800 version. Therefore, I like the XEGS version better. As for Desert Falcon, the XEGS version sounds a bit better, the graphics are decent, but your bird can't fly real high like in the 7800 version. I'd have to go with the 7800 version for Desert Falcon.
DracIsBack
The XE version of DARK CHAMBERS also flickers like a banshee when you get a lot of guys on the screen moving at the same time. In fairness, the 7800's MARIA is a lot stronger at moving objects than the XE's GTIA chip but it was something I noted.
Cousin Vinnie
Desert Falcon gets a bad rap from a lot of people, but I think the game is really great on the 7800. I have never played the XE version, but I am totally happy with the 7800's take on it. CV
Goochman
My only issue with the XE version of Desert Falcon is your score disappears when the game ends - No chance to get a dig pic or anything - you just get dumped back to the title screen - otherwise was fun to play.
