conda
Can someone explain to me about SIO2PC? How does this work and what hardware and software do I need? And how do I hook up the DIN port to my TV. What cable do I need to buy? I have an old crapy TV I use for my Ataris that has one Audio and one Video port. I don't know squat about these two things. Thanks. classics
SIO2PC works by attaching a cable from the SIO port of your Atari to your PC. You can click on the link in my sig below for more information on the hardware interface. </shamless plug> Thats basically all thats required on the hardware end. Once you have that set up you can run SIO2PC software on your PC which simulates Atari hardware. With that setup you can download 'disk images' directly from the internet and boot them on your Atari directly. You can also transfer files to and from your PC, backup your Atari software on CD and quite a bit more. There are both commercial SIO2PC software programs like APE, and free ones like Atari810 and the original SIO2PC package. With a standard interface you are free to try them all and decide which one suits your needs best. Steve
classics
Sorry to reply twice but I believe editing is still disabled. You can get a breakout box that will let you attach the Atari directly to the video and audio line inputs on your TV at: http://www.a8maestro.com/sites/mtgcat/prod...oda8/eh0101.htm I have not purchsed one of these myself but I have heard good things about it. Shawn Jefferson
And how do I hook up the DIN port to my TV. What cable do I need to buy? I have an old crapy TV I use for my Ataris that has one Audio and one Video port. I think all you really need is a DIN to RCA cable (dozens of these on eBay for sale). I found mine at a local electronics store. You then hook the Composite video and audio to your TV.
