DracIsBack
Now that my Cuttle Cart has arrived and running, I've been messing around with the likes of PIT FIGHTER and other unreleased games. PIT FIGHTER is quite kludgy, flickery and not even closed to finished. It doesn't look much like the digitized arcade version at all, though who knows what Atari's plans were for modifying graphics later? One thing that did strike me when playing this on a real 7800, was how big and detailed the sprites were. For an 8-bit game, these were fairly large characters. It gave me hope that someone could do a better job on DOUBLE DRAGON than Imagineering did. Anyone know who programmed Pit Fighter? Now, if I could only get SPACEWAR and the TAQUART demos to work ... I think this should be marked as the first compliment this game has ever received http://www.atariprotos.com/7800/software/p.../pitfighter.htm Lists the programmer as Imagitec Design but you probably already knew that. I bet the individual responsible for the tough task of converting this arcade game to the 7800 is still in hiding.

Yeah, but Tempest is just a wee bit biased against the 7800 while thinking the 5200 can bring about world peace and end world hunger. Bruce Tomlin
Yeah, but Tempest is just a wee bit biased against the 7800 while thinking the 5200 can bring about world peace and end world hunger. End world hunger? Maybe by grinding up the enormous cases and eating the plastic shavings! Thanks to oesii for the link. I ran this the other day but it was even more boring that it should have been because I was using a plain Wico stick with no 7800 right button, so I couldn't kick. With a few eggs and a box or two of "5200 Helper" you could feed a family of four for a week with one of cases.
ninjarabbit
I don't know why they even bothered trying to port it. The SNES and Genesis couldn't handle Pit Fighter (though they were lazy ports and SNES Pit Fighter might be the worst SNES game), so why did they think they could make a passable version on the 7800. +-^CrossBow^-
Lynx version is by no means "Stellar" or even passable if you ask the general populace of Lynx owners who have this game.
