Does "Space Panic" exist for the 2600?

"Space Panic" is one of my favourite games on the Colecovision, is there an ATARI 2600 version, too ? Or a clone of "Space Panic" ?

The arcade version is by Universal.

The Coleco also had the clone "Cosmic Crisis" by BitCorp and there are at least 2 clones on the ATARI 800 - "Panic" and "Cannibals".

The 2600 has nothing to offer.

Despite being the first ladder-platform game, Space Panic was a disaster in the arcades. The game was only noticed and appreciated after a clone for the AppleII called Apple Panic became a surprize hit. Apple Panic was out well before Coleco grabbed the Space Panic license.

Talking about space panic heres a little story thats kind of funny now i look back on it

When I had my first Atari 2600 I was given two carts for my 2600 one was

"Warlords" (The first time i had it I aquired it again 2 years back and has now been sold)

And a curious little black cartridge called "Space Panic".

Well first of all I played Warlords and loved it! But when I went to place the "Space Panic" into the deck it would not fit.

Looking at the lable (i was young at the time) I saw a manufacturers name

on the bottom (Something Toy Corporation?) and because I saw the word

toy I thought it was fake so I threw it in the bin

When I didnt see it on your list I thought I might have thrown a proto away

but in fact it was the Coleco version.

But still it would have been good if there was a 2600 version as I was getting excited thinking that I had at one time had an unknown proto.

Space panic was quite obscure but still a great arcade game, I can only remember seeing it in 1 location and playing it there. Ive got a sealed copy for the coleco and a loose copy, The translation is excellent. Now im sure the 2600's hardware could handle it quite well.
