atari 800 xe flopy drive

Recommended Posts

Unless you have a lot of real floppies or need to work with floppy disks, you might be better off getting a SIO2PC adapter. That will let you hook your Atari to your PC and use virtual disk drives.

If you want to use real floppy disks you cant beat a 1050, they are cheap and usually last a long time without any problems.

Yeah...capacity has little to do with anything, since it would be a chore to log all the start/stop points on a cassette index card for each program on it. But even then, I think that a DD floppy drive would have it beat (not to mention all that time you'd save not waiting around). And with an SIO2PC, you don't even need to worry about floppy disk reliability.
