atarisales
For those that know, please answer this. Is the circuit board in an Atari Light Sixer the same board in a Sears Light Sixer? Thanks in advance.....
TuzenTCA
I am not totally sure, but I would say yes as long as they are both Heavy or Light. I would never take apart my Sixers because they are old, few and far between, and they give a great picture for testing or in-depth playing. Thanks in advance..... They sort of are, although the ribbon cable connector varies and the switch plate circuit board is different.
atarisales
What I would really be asking is could you take the circuit board, in whole out of a Sears Lighr Sixer, and transplant it in the shell of an Atari Light Sixer. Does it fit the same?

CPUWIZ
Thanks CPUWIZ! I know I have had a friend in you! You're welcome. Especially after your cursed heavy sixer that took me forever to fix.
atarisales
I thank you for that valient effort. But, like an elderly patient, it did come home to die in a few weeks. It was perfect for about 2 days, then would only play in 2 shades of black & white. Then one day it just stopped altogether. It just wasn't meant to be. And like I said, I owe you big time for the great effort.

video game addict
You know you can also transplant the light 6er into that Heavy as well. I did that with one I had purchased it was assumed dead when I bought it, but looked in good shape. I had a light 6er in perfect working order I simply gutted and put in the heavy. If you still have and prefer the look of the heavy.
atarisales
I dunno. That's sorta like a boob job - looks fantastic with clothes on, but just is not the same underneath. Get the meaning? LOL

ussexplorer
But is it a sin to take a sears six swicther board and put it in a broken atari six switcher. Especially since I like the atari one better than sears? later ussexplorer
Mindfield
Aren't the Sears boards Atari-branded anyway? I know at the very least that the Sears Video Arcade II uses the Atari 2800 board.
