tjlazah
I got this nice Atari 400 from the Thrift Store for .99 cents. Didn't know if it worked but for $1 who cares. I plugged it into my TV with a old TV Switchbox and it seems to work. BUT the video is really really bad. Snowy and crappy. I tried to hook up a 800 I had and the same thing. Also tried a 130XE and same. How can I get better video from the RF? (I also tried another TV, same problem)
Nukey Shay
Sounds like you are getting major interference through any RF cord. Fortunately, the 800 and 130XE have monitor output lines...so you can connect those to A/V inputs on modern T.V.'s and most VCR's. -except- No such output exists for the 400. It's RF only Try to clean up the noise by moving the system to another area of the house...or turning off electric equipment that is near the computer (like maybe the stereo system, etc.). I'd also get rid of the TV/Game switchbox...and just use a RCA-to-F adapter instead. Hope that works out
Nukey Shay
BTW if you have a Sega Genesis, it's monitor cord matches the plug on the 800. So those should be relatively easy to find. It's called a 5-pin DIN monitor cable.
+Mitch
And don't use an auto switchbox, make sure and use a manual one, though, as Nukey mentioned, an RCA to F-jack adapter is better yet. Mitch
tjlazah
Great thanks for the tip! I had that exact device, a RCA to Coax adaptor and it works great! Almost perfect picture....
