Adonick
On atari carts? Can you febreeze them?
VidGameKing
I've had Many carts that smell like ciggaretts, It's really gross. PEOPLE IF YOU SMOKE, DON'T DO IT AROUND THE VIDEO GAMES!! Usually what cures them is being out where the air can move around them freeley, and just let them air out for a month or two. Also, It's VERY good to wash them a bit. Be jentle, You don't want to hurt the label whatsoever! But you wouldn't belive the TAR I can get off of a cart!! Just seeing that, makes it so I don't want to smoke! joeybastard
For musty smells I put them some baking soda in a bowl and put the carts and the bowl into a sealed box for a day or so.
bcprs1
For musty smells I put them some baking soda in a bowl and put the carts and the bowl into a sealed box for a day or so. Good idea. I also like to take a Q*tip and some cleaner.

Adonick
I tried febreze on an asteroids label and it seems to be fine if you wipe it off immediately.
VidGameKing
does it get rid of the smell?
Adonick
so,so. I think that there is no real immediate fix. The baking soda idea is the best one I can think of.

It works pretty well, some carts I've had to leave in the box for days on end
RMila75
I would try the baking soda option first, as you don't have to worry about messing up the labels by rubbing anything on them directly. I bet that trick works well on musty/smokey books as well.
