SeanCrot
Hi. Wonder can anyone help. My system is an Atari 800 with a Happy enhanced 1050 disk drive. I want to create auto booting menu driven 5.25inch floppies which will list and load the .exe files stored on the disks. Formatting in Warpdos would seem to give the fastest load times but it doesn't support double density. Formatting with Mydos gives me double density, but wont load files as fast as Warpdos (am I right on this - I'm going on the sound of the audible "pips" you hear during loading?) What Dos format should I use to give me the speed of Warpdos and double density? Also can anyone recommend a compact and elegant auto booting menu prog to load the .exe files with? Hope you can help. www.atarimania.com
Hi Sean, Don't know whether they support high speed but I like PicoDOS and Speed Start Initializer which won't restrict you to 8.3 filenames. I'm afraid I don't have any links so I hope someone else can help you with these two... -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com
