Help...Blank screen...argh!!

I just picked up a couple of Lynxes and a game (Batman Returns) and when I try to play the game, I get a blank screen. After a second the sound comes on, and the options can be selected ( judging by the sound), but the screen remains blank. Is there a simple solution to this? Is it the console or the game? Help'd be nice, thankies in advance.

Did you adjust the brightness?

Is the screen emitting any sort of glow whatsoever? if not, your backlight may be dead. Grab an appropriate defective lynx model on eBay (usually unnaturally cheap) and do a swap of the backlights.

If the backlight turns out to be dead I have a couple spare Model 2 Lynx Screens with working backlights.... PM me if interested in one.

If the backlight is out, you can usually kind of make out the game if you hold it under bright light. (In my experiance) Kind of like a bad Gameboy advance.

Realize this is a reach, but do you still have spare Lynx 2 screens ? Tks

If your unit is a Lynx 1 then try with another cart before changing the screen.

For a reason unknown to me I have managed to write stuff for the Lynx that

works fine on a Lynx 2 but fails randomly on a Lynx 1 with exactly these

symptoms.

 

Perhaps Batman Returns is one of these games that are picky on a Lynx 1.
