Blackjack
I would like a good book about repairing, tuning, etc. for the 2600 and I would like some input on which one. There is this one on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...mMakeTrack=true The Best electronics catalog claims to have a lot of tips & tricks. Any advice? sku_u
Your best bet is to pick up a Field Service Manual directly from Best Electronics. If you know how to read schematics, those provide you with everything you need to know about repairing Atari 2600 systems specifically. Blackjack
If you know how to read schematics. Rules me out I should've added: "For the electronically challenged" I just wanna learn how to fix easy stuff and maybe fine tune the picture. There's not a lot to these older systems. I only learned recently how to read and understand them. Here's a nice starting point: http://www.electronics-lab.com/links/ I don't know of any simple how to repair books for Atari. In the days of the VCS, you did one of three things if your system broke: 1. Took it to a service center and either had it repaired or used it as a trade in. 2. Fiddled around with it until you figured out what the problem was. 3. Threw the system out and bought a new one.
