SS
Any ideas about what I need to get it running? A better question, I guess, is anything else compatible with it? Thanks.
oesii
Do you have an Atari disk drive? The 1050 and 810 power supplies should work with the 800. Otherwise I don't think any other classic systems had the same specs. If you need to buy one, Best should have it: http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/
oesii
$15 doesn't seem too bad: http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/power%20guide.htm But I guess you want to know if it works in the first place before spending more. If my 800 and 1050 weren't packed in storage in the back of the garage I would offer to loan you one of mine for testing. But, I can't get to the back of my garage anytime soon because it's packed with lawn furniture, plants, etc. because of all these hurricanes here in Florida. So if no one has any good p/s suggestions or offers you one I can loan you one in a month or two
SS
Didn't think about trying my 1050 power supply! OK, I seem to be half way there. The system powers up and displays on the TV (via the attached RF cable). However, I am getting no sound from the system. When on, I can see the picture but the sound remains the same "no signal" static noise that you hear when the power is off (I'm running through an old school selector box). Any ideas about this problem? Bad RF cable? Bad Pokey chip?
bjk7382
Any ideas about this problem? Bad RF cable? Bad Pokey chip? You could get rid of the RF with a montor cable. (Please note that I just did a quick search for the same cable that I have already bought, and this isn't the same seller so I can' endorse their business, but I know that cable will work with your 800)
