I still remember reading an issue of Video Games & Computer Entertainment and seeing that Warbirds had broken the top ten list of Babbage's monthly game sales. Most of the game magazines back then expressed pretty favorable opinions on the Lynx, even after the launch of the Game Gear. From what I recall, the Lynx was actually a bit of a minor success for Atari, especially when comparing its sales to that of other Tramiel-era Atari systems.
