Mask of Destiny
I have an Atari 800XL which will work for a few minutes or so and then the display corrupts itself and the computer crashes. I've tracked the problem down to one of the 64Kx1 DRAM chips (the corruption pattern changes when I swap the chips around). I'd like to repair it if I can, but at the moment the only place I've found that carries an appropriate replacement DRAM wants $10 for it. Does someone know of a good source of replacement DRAMs or even better, a procedure that could return the DRAM to proper operation (I doubt this is possible, but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case). Alternatively, if there is a relatively simple way to hack it to use 8-bit SRAMs that would work too as I have a number of those.
Mask of Destiny
Upon taking another look at the message board layout, I suppose this probably belongs in hardware. Could some friendly moderator move it there, if that is indeed the case?
