dvdguy
Ugh, it's Alien's Return. EDIT feature needed!
Cootster
It seems to be a really bad, half-ass Turtles clone . . . But I don't see what dropping the bombs does, because they don't affect the enemies at all . . .
Spirantho
Don't know how to play it, but it's actually apparently called Col 'N'... though the name "Alien's Return" is the ITT version which is waaay more common. I've never seen a real Homevision (who made it) Col 'N' cart....
dvdguy
But I don't see what dropping the bombs does, because they don't affect the enemies at all . . . I don't even see any enemies. I can drop something at certain times, can't say if its a bomb or not though. And certain locations make me change color. AA should run a contest to come up with a whole backstory/explanation for games like this.

Spirantho
OK, this is what you have to do (according to my imagination and experience). You are an alien (that little chappy) in the middle. You have to build your spaceship up from the 4 component parts in the corners of the map. However, you need to activate the parts by looking into the chambers and pressing fire. If there is an activation point in there, you will turn purple and the spaceship part appears in its corner. If there isn't, a guard will appear and chase you down. Grab the spaceship part as quick as you can - but you can only hold the parts in order - in other words you can't pick up part 2,3 or 4 unless you have the first part. If it's the wrong part, run back to the activation point and press fire again to go back to block-laying mode. Lay blocks around the map to stall the guards in their pursuit. If it's the right part, go hunting the next chamber and hope it doesn't have a guard! I got to level 3.. but don't expect much - I couldn't see any difference from level 1! It's pretty easy if you don't get any guards - there seems to be a pattern of some kind (all the diagonal ones, for instance, may contain activation points). Of course I may still be missing something.
Cootster
So the blocks don't destroy the enemies as in Turtles, it just slows them down a little?
Spirantho
So the blocks don't destroy the enemies as in Turtles, it just slows them down a little? From what I've seen, the block stays on the screen for a certain amount of time. No bad guys can get past the block, so they're held up for a bit. Very strange game.... Mindfield
Actually, I kinda liked Alien's Return. It reminded me of Blueprint.
Cybergoth
Hi there! Actually, I kinda liked Alien's Return. It reminded me of Blueprint. I always thought of it as single-screen E.T. Greetings, Manuel
