maxgrrl
My atari sixer displays clear video and seems to run fine my displays the colors in the games a different color then all my other 4 switch ataris do.Is this common or is something wrong.Example edging frame on frogger is red not green.I've been an atari lover for years but just seriouly started collecting and fixing up atari gear. Thanks
Robert M
Hello, Welcome to the boards. There are 2 possibilities. It is either a PAL console and the others are NTSC or vise versa. Or, the color/tint is off. there is a potentiometer inside the unit you can turn with a small screwdriver. Turning it is like adjusting the Tint control on your television. Cheers! ClassicBoy
If I remember correctly the six-switchers and the 2600 jrs actually have a better picture and more vibrant colors than the 4-switchers. I was skeptical until I picked up a six-switch model and compared it to the color and picture on my 4-switch. Wow! What a difference. I was skeptical until I picked up a six-switch model and compared it to the color and picture on my 4-switch. Wow! What a difference. Actually, I didn't find the Jr. had much of a better picture. If anything it was more prone to interference. The heavy sixers however had that big chunk o' metal shielding to filter out RF interference, and thus produces the crispest, cleanest, most vibrant picture of any 2600 model that hasn't been modded for A/V.
