Playing Universe on 8-bit emulator

I posted this under the Emulators forum a couple months ago. Maybe some of you didn't see it. I have the following problem.

 

I’m using the atari800win plus 4.0 emulator. I’m trying to play Universe with 2 disk drives. The documentation says that after you boot the flight 1 disk and the computer prompts you to enter the player disk into drive 1, you are supposed to put in the player disk in drive 1 and the flight 2 disk into drive 2 and hold the start button and hit enter. I do this but it doesn’t work for me. Any help would be appreciated.
