keilbaca
Hello all, I have one of those Atari 2600 JR's that have built in 64 games in it. Here is the question. Were these designed to be black and white, and have no sound? Because the sound sounds like the same sound from my pong units, and the picture is well, black and white. Just wondering, because PAL games do work on my old tv, just wondering if this atari was designed like that or not.
Mindfield
Sounds like a Brazilian console. They're PAL-M, and will work on NTSC sets, but without colour. Not sure about the sound bit, though...
keilbaca
The sound sounds kind of like static, like I said, think of the sound when you plug in a pong unit, any pong unit that the sound comes out of the console itself, and turn up the tv. that sound. frax
Short answer: PAL games works in your NTSC console but this is a PAL console with different video output hardeware. If it's boxed, sell it to me /frax
Curt Vendel
I have found some PAL equipment will: Produce B&W B&W and roll No Sound So it sounds like there is nothing wrong with your console, you just need a scan converter to go PAL to NTSC.
